About Broadway

Broadway Cinema is one of the UK's leading independent cinemas.

Opened in 1990 on the site of a former Wesleyan Chapel where Salvation Army founder Sir William Booth first 'gave his life to God', Broadway is situated in Hockley, the hub of Nottingham's creative industries.

The cinema hosts 4 screens, including one designed by Sir Paul Smith, and is home to a number of film production companies and filmmakers, including BIFA award-winning documentary maker Jeanie Finlay (Orion: The Man Who Would Be King, The Great Hip Hop Hoax), and acclaimed production company Wellington Films (London To Brighton, Crying With Laughter).

The cinema has hosted guests including Quentin Tarantino, Paul Schrader, Stephen Frears, Nicolas Winding Refn, Danny Boyle, Sally Potter, Irvine Welsh, Ken Russell, Julie Walters, John Woo, Sam Fuller, Ken Loach, Gurinder Chadha, Terence Davies and many more.
